Hanks of Hexs

Yorkbeads.com is a wholesale source for a lot of the new Spike beads, but they also lots of other Czech beads.  Here are some hex cut hanks I purchased recently.  I've been busy packing co-op bulbs orders, but I can't wait to finish up and settle in for the winter.  Lots of beads to play with.

Off and running with my Clay Cab Sets.   I have so many ideas for them, and the more I make, the more the ideas come.  I have them all listed on my Facebook page.

Shipping is included in the price for US customers.  If you are outside of the US, contact me with
your address, and I'll let you know what the shipping cost would be.

Here is are some sample sets.  You can find the dimensions on my Facebook page.  All are flat and unglazed on the reverse so they can be glued to backing.  I will be making them with holes next for other types of bead work.

Next step

Here are some of the beads (focal cabs) now with the glaze on them.  Some have matte and some glossy.   I have about 100 made now, but not all finished.  By the end of next week, I may have enough glazed to start listing them for sale.

New Project - Making Beads

I guess the big test today will be to see if this blog posting goes through to the Hive.  My last posting never went through.
So here is what I am working on now.  Making focal beads with earthenware clay.  They are in for the first firing and then I will glaze and fire a second time.  I'll be using a variety of colored glazes with a semi/transparent finish.  Some will have floral and animal decals and be
fired a third time.

Finally finished!  I bead a bit, ok, a lot slower, during gardening season.  The plant co-op keeps me pretty busy.  And no matter how hard I try, it keeps my fingers rough and my finger nails dirty - lol.
I started this cuff a couple of months back, but the last week or so have made a push to finish it.
I guess because I have ordered so many beads recently, I figured I had better get busy!
Turquoise cabs and various sized seed beads make it quite dimensional.

Bead Shopping

Bead shopping leads to more and more beads.  I've been admiring the pieces made with Czech glass buttons, so I had to order some.  I picked these two first.  Both have green and amethyst coloring with accents of gold.  Then, of course, I had to buy accent colors to work with, in various shades, shapes and sizes.   I plan a cuff bracelet done in embroidery and maybe a necklace with the other.

Boy, I can't believe how long it's been since I blogged!   But I still beading and chatting up a storm on Facebook.

Buddha

I bought this enameled buddha pendant a few years back. Some times things just have to sit around a while before the inspiration hits. I had ordered the colors before we went to Fla, but still didn't have a firm idea of what I wanted to do. Then one morning I was surfing for Tai Chi instructions and happened on some pagado pictures. I knew then, what I wanted to do.
This is just the embroidery portion. I need to do the lining yet, and the necklace portion will
be tubular peyote. I'll post another photo when finished. I had to order some more beads.
I'm enjoying bead embroidery.

White Cameo Cuff

I finally finished my white cameo cuff bracelet. I started it before we left for Fla, but haven't done much serious beading since we got here. The cuff is 2" wide and has an aluminum cuff blank in between the base and lining to keep it's shape. I used all white beads with different sizes and finishes, and some lucite and glass flower shaped beads.
Boy, have I bought a ton of beads down here!
