Time in the Fall

Copper seem to call to me this fall. First a copper watch face, then a clasp. So copper was the natural color choice for the band, made up in herringbone stitch. I like the clasp so much, I thought it looked great next to the watch face instead of the normal spot. Glass autumn leaves were used to embellish the band for just a extra kick.

Three Drop Peyote - Bargello Pattern

Three Drop Peyote is odd count so you'll need to familiarize yourself how to turn at the end of a row.
I've made the chart in shades of lavender to purple, but it would look great in shades of blue, rose, green, or even shades of gray to black.

This can be worked in Delica's or seed beads in 11/0's. Repeat pattern until you have desired length.

Raised Diamond Pattern

The chart for this is below in an older post. It's worked in peyote with 11's, 8's and 6's. The various sized beads form the raised areas. Makes an interesting raised effect. I finished this bracelet last spring but an idea for the closure just didn't jump out at me until the other day at
Michaels.

Snowman Chart - Peyote

Here's a Snowman chart perfect for a bracelet. It measures 2.6 " wide and 6.33 " long. If you want it longer, just add a few more red rows at the beginning and end. Pattern was made on BeadCreatorPro. He'd be cute embellished with some tiny jingle bells too. Use your ctrl and + key to enlarge pattern on your screen.

My First Beading Project

No one can say I don't jump into a new hobby with both feet! I made this
just over 30 years ago. At the time, we had an 18 ft cathedral ceiling and this
hung in front a huge window. It's been packed away since we move here, but
it still looks great. I have glass circles for shelves packed somewhere in the garage.
It's a little over 7ft from top to bottom and the bottom circle is 18". It was made with
over 12,000 clear plastic beads. Image today's cost if they were Swarovski's!

It's made mostly with right angle weave, but it wasn't called it back then.

Halloween Jack o Lantern Bracelet

It's been finished for a couple of weeks but I didn't like my first photo attempt.
This is done in peyote stitch, graph is below in an older post. Graph was made
using BeadCreatorPro. Note my cute little black cat bead used in the closure.

Teapots

I collect teapots. I try to resist not buying all that I see, but sometimes you find some that are just too cute.
I found these at a flea market this week. They are just 3" tall and about 4" handle to spout.

And here we have herringbone stitch used to turn the corners in a square. Peyote stitch is
used between the corners.
The two black herringbone stitched loops will be used to attach the necklace portion for this piece.

And the two smaller elongated triangles are joined. Continue with the single herringbone stitch until it is long enough and join. There ya go, a cigar band type ring. Lots of possibilities here for variations.

Using the larger elongated triangle, I've made a Christmas tree that can be made into
a pin, a pendant, or a component in a bracelet (You'll see in a future post). Note even the
star makes use of the herringbone stitch.

And here's what happens when you weave all the triangles together, pointed towards the center. You get a circle.
Depending on the size of your triangles, you can make anything from a pendant, to a small purse with two circles.

Here is a bracelet made with triangles. The triangles are stitched together, alternating point up and point down. I've included a picture with a black triangle layed on top to better picture the division of triangles. You can vary the width of the bracelet by adding or subtracting rows on the triangles. All the triangles must be the same size though.

The Herringbone Stitch is used frequently in structural pieces.

Skull in Herringbone

In keeping with today's theme - Herringbone, here is a skull pattern done in herringbone.
In 11/o's beads, it works up to measure 1.6" wide by 1.45. Pattern can be repeated to length
required.

Halloween Themed Loom Pattern

This can be worked as a cuff bracelet. It measures approximately 2.35" by 7.50" worked in 11/0's Delica's.

Cameo's

I can never make up my mind which beads and things I like best so I usually end up with a variety.
