Tidal Pool Bracelet

Finished! And I love it. I took these photos down on the beach, but later I'll try a couple indoors with the flash. Most of the beads I used were silver lined and they really sparkle in the sun.
I mentioned to Gary that the glasses I just got last year don't seem to be strong enough anymore, he looked at the bracelet and said 'no wonder'.

Herringbone with Cubes

This worked up really fast, less than 2 hours.
Herringbone done with 4mm black matte and silver cubes.
Santa knows how good I was this year and left my Christmas present early. It's a 12 mega pixels Olympus with a 26 optical zoom. Love it. I'm still learning all the 'bells and whistles'.

Bead Shops in Fla

Yesterday, I visited the Celestial Beading shop at 201 150th Ave in Madeira Beach. What a nice shop. Very well organized, bright lights that made all the beads just sparkle and cry out -
"Take me home!"
I had to pick up some 6/0's for my sea theme bracelet. I had bought some from ebay before we left, but after starting the project, I realized what I had bought were labeled 8/0's, but were actually 6/0's. So I found both sizes at Celestial. Now I think I can re-start the bracelet.

Snowflakes Are Tumblin'

We just had a big snowfall, so finishing this piece just in time. Named in honor of my friend, Suzie, who is always encouraging me to be even more craftier!
I'm convinced photographing bead work is harder than beading the piece. If you click on the photo to enlarge, the detail shows up better.
Next, I need to switch gears from a wintery theme to seaside. We'll be leaving for Fla in just a couple of days. I've got plenty of beads packed for the trip.

Crow Bag

Big enough to hold my license and a few bucks. This was done on the loom with delica beads. Approximately 6200 delica's and some bugles and other beads in the fringe and strap. I started it over a year ago and put it down for awhile. I just recently started again on the fringe and finished it yesterday.

What a nice way to start my day!!!

Ah, that Suzie! Makes me work and work. " You could make and you could make that!" rofl - You know I love ya! lol

Black Cat Cuff Bracelet

Wow, the whole summer has flown by. I don't do any beading during the summer. I am in the garden as soon as the weather warms. Our plant co-op keeps me very busy. But now, my
friend, Suzie, has me thinking of Halloween, fall colors, fresh baked breads and homemade soups.

So my first project for the fall is a Black Cat Cuff Bracelet worked on the loom. When finished it will have approximately 3,000 tiny delica beads. I like it so much, I'm thinking of making an amulet bag to match.

This bracelet almost has a slight optical illusion in the photo. It almost looks like cubes, but it's actually triangle shapes stitched together.

This Starfish pattern is a pin. It could also be used as a pendant.
It's a easy pattern. Makes up in just a couple hours.

This one came out a little larger than I expected. It's like a little pincushion!

This one worked out well. I started with a center strip worked in RAW and then peyote from there. It came out pretty good since I had no plan in mind when I started.

The bottom right is worked in 11/0's and 15/0's as the pattern calls for
and the bottom left is worked in hex cuts and 11/0's
These are fun to make and work up really fast.

Ziggy in Black

A small version of Ziggy - a pattern you'll be seeing a lot of in beading patterns.
Done here in Delica Beads DB 310 Matte Black and DB 021 Steel.
The stitches used are peyote and herringbone.

Happy New Year 2009

A cold start to the new year. Ten degrees this morning. I don't know what the wind chill was, but it's pretty darn cold. Ah, but just a couple more days and we'll be on the way to Fla for a couple weeks. I think I have way more beads and projects packed than I'll need but you never know what you'll need.

And my latest bead. I'm waiting for some larger seeds beads in the same colors to make the necklace portion.
